Physical facilities at Chagar Hutang were rebuilt in 2006 and we now have quite comfortable accommodations with attached toilets and shower-rooms.

A volunteer complex with attached toilet and shower-rooms. Bed, pillows and mattress are provided but must be used in the rooms only and should not be brought to the beach. Please bring your own sleeping bag and inflatable pillow if you want to sleep on the beach. Mat will be provided to be used on the beach.

The buildings are equipped with solar-powered lights. However, the use of lights must be kept to a minimum.  Charging is limited to cameras and phones only.

Most parts of Redang Island can be reached by mobile phone, except at Chagar Hutang. Please inform your family about this. For emergency purposes, your family can contact SEATRU at 09-6683163/3846, or email us at turtle@umt.edu.my.
